9720 Wilshire Adaptive Reuse by Montalba Architects

Completed by Montalba Architects in 2023, the project is a significant historical restoration and renovation of the original 1962 Edward Durrell Stone Building with the addition of a new sunken garden.

#fbf to Glendale & the Grand Central Air Terminal (GCAT) with @pcl_construction, @pamelaburtonandcompany, & @frederickfisherandpartners

Brief History - Architect Henry L. Gogerty designed Glendale’s Grand Central Air Terminal in 1928 as part of Glendale Airport, the first commercial airport in greater Los Angeles. It remains a symbol of innovation: Howard Hughes and Amelia Earhart flew from here, and the airport birthed American Airlines. After the airport closed in 1959, the campus became a light industrial business park through the early 1990s. Restoration to this historic landmark was completed in 2014, transforming the historic structure into a creative office space and corporate events facility.
