Residential Treatment
Residential
Set Free Detox & Residential provides effective evidence-based addiction recovery interventions within a residential setting. Residential rehab features a structured environment with a wide array of therapeutic activities that keeps residents engaged in their recovery and moving forward toward achieving sustained sobriety. Balance is provided through recreational activities and free time as well as complementary holistic activities.
Residential treatment elements include:
- Intake and assessment. A thorough initial evaluation allows the intake clinicians to arrive at an accurate diagnosis. From the information provided during the intake interview and evaluation, an individualized treatment plan is created as a kind of recovery blueprint, customized to address the specific needs and recovery goals of the individual.
- Medical detox. Most individuals will need to complete a medically supervised detox and withdrawal at the outset of the treatment process. This allows the residual substance to be purged from the body, resulting in a more stable, clear-headed condition that enables the individual to fully engage in the treatment process. Medical detox will involve trained detox professionals who will administer the medical and psychological support necessary to minimize the withdrawal symptoms.
- The treatment process centers on psychotherapy, the cornerstone of addiction recovery. Evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and others are offered in both individual and group formats. Therapy helps residents to examine underlying emotional issues, as well as to identify disordered thought patterns and subsequently make fundamental positive shifts in thought and behavior patterns.
- Family-focused therapy. Core family dynamics can play a significant role in recovery success. By providing a safe forum for family members to articulate their feelings, then issues such as enabling, codependency, lack of healthy boundaries, or ineffective communication can be identified and improved upon through skill building.
- A key treatment element of addiction recovery is acquiring important recovery skills. Relapse prevention planning entails designing an individualized plan that identifies personal triggers and outlines actionable steps to help avoid relapse. Other recovery skills include improved conflict resolution techniques and communication skills.
- Adjunctive activities. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills training can equip the individual with the actionable tools to reinforce recovery using four modules: Core mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Other complementary activities include art therapy and journaling.
- Dual Diagnosis. Some individuals may have both a substance use disorder and a co-occurring mental health challenge, such as a mood disorder, which is termed a dual diagnosis. Dual diagnosis treatment implies that both the addiction behaviors and the mental health disorder will be treated simultaneously for best recovery outcomes.
- 12-Step or non 12-Step recovery group. Recovery group meetings, such as Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step or SMART Recovery non 12-step programs, will be incorporated into the weekly schedule. Meetings revolve around peer support and accountability.
- Nutrition and Recreation. Recreational activities and exercise are an important aspect of restoring health and fitness in recovery, and can contribute to improved mood, better sleep quality, and improved overall wellness. Nutritional counseling can assist the individual in improving their diet to help restore physical wellness and brain health.
