The Robert Day Sciences Center 🔬

The building is composed of stacked pairs of blocks, each rotated 45 degrees from the level below, giving the structure a layered appearance.

This arrangement generates eight outdoor terraces along the corner perimeters, providing accessible spaces for students and faculty to gather, study, and enjoy natural light and fresh air.

The offset blocks allow for integration of 9,000 square feet of solar panels, supporting the building’s sustainability goals and helping Claremont McKenna achieve LEED Gold 🥇
