Langdon Wilson Architecture
Description of Project:
Student Recreation Center incorporating a large pool deck, substantial pedestrian and vehicular paving and stained vertical surfaces in the gymnasium.
Size (Concrete Surface):
47,000 SF of broom finish and EcoCast® Concrete. Other work included 42,000 SF of interior stained walls.
Types of Color and Color Manufacturer:
EcoCast® Surface Retarder by Trademark Concrete Systems, Inc. and Chemstain by LM Scofield.
Highlights of the Project:
Interior concrete tilt-up walls were sandblasted then stained and sealed to yield a soft earthy hue; this process turned cold smooth concrete into a warm inviting interior surface. The exterior paving incorporated broom finish concrete panels with EcoCast® concrete panels in a checkerboard fashion to yield an economical but attractive hardscape.
